Halloween Snack Mix
Happy Halloween! For all those who celebrate, I hope you had a fun and safe weekend. Though Halloween is almost over I wanted to share a recipe that I developed in preparation for a Halloween party hosted by my friends at their house. This Halloween snack mix is great to bring to Halloween parties as it is a fun and delicious spooky snack that can be enjoyed by all!
Yields 20 servings, five-minute preparation time
Ingredients
3 bags of Chex Mix Muddy Buddies (or any puppy chow)
2 cups of mini chocolate covered pretzels
1 cup of white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips
Candy eyeballs (two needed for each pretzel)
1 cup of candy corn (I know there are mixed feelings about this, I love candy corn though!)
1 cup of peanut or regular M&M’s, preferably the Halloween mix, the “Ghoul’s Mix”
Really, the only part of this recipe that takes a little work to put together is the mummy pretzels, instructions are below.
Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl by microwaving in 30-second increments until melted
Transfer the melted chocolate into a piping bag (I just used a zip lock bag with a tiny piece of the corner cut off)
Spread the chocolate covered pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Use a piping bag to drizzle the white chocolate onto the pretzels (it should resemble a mummy)
While the chocolate is still wet, add two candy eyes to the pretzels
Put the pretzels in the refrigerator for five minutes to allow them to cool
Now that we have the mummy pretzels made, it is time to add all our ingredients into a large bowl and mix for a fun and spooky treat!
Devyn, this sounds so delicious! I love finding new treats to make over the holidays because it makes the occasions so much fun. We’ll definitely have to make this together sometime.
