Finding Chip
I moved to Ada this summer for my internship on campus. I was super excited to move to Ada as I have never had a house off ONU’s campus before. My roommates are two of my best friends and I couldn’t wait to move in and live with them. Before arriving to the house to move my belongings in, my roommate told me that she was working in Findlay over the summer, and our other roommate also had a summer job away from Ada, meaning that it was going to be a lonely summer for me. I was bummed about the news, but still excited to move.
Fast forward a few days and it was time for me to come back to Ada and officially move in. When I arrived at the house, I expected a boring day moving in alone, but I was met with two surprises. As I was walking to the door, I saw my roommate (surprise 1) and in her arms was a teeny tiny little kitten. I like cats and I grew up with cats, so I was excited to meet this one. My roommate said she had found him behind the neighbor’s trash can and decided to take him home after the neighbors said it was okay. He could not have been more than four weeks old, so she took him inside and gave him cheddar and sour cream Ruffles chips, hence his name and we quickly fell in love.
Since I was alone in the house for a great portion of the summer and had the privilege to raise Chip. We have grown very close, and I am so thankful that he basically fell in our lap and has made for some really great company. He is now about four-months-old and has since gained a sister named Mi Mi, both of whom keep me and roommates very entertained. Don’t be surprised if you, as the reader, continue to hear Chip stories throughout this blog, because it’s my blog, and I love Chip.
Chip is so cute! I am glad you got a little friend over the summer. I hope your summer internship went well! I also like cats. I have 3 siamese cats at home, one of them is a baby like Chip.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! One of my favorite things about Ada aside from its size and safety is the amount of outdoor, porch-cats outside of campus. My boyfriend and I have more or less adopted an outdoor calico cat. Unfortunately, she only likes us when she's being fed by us, but she's still cute!
